In this mini recap of Episode 46, we peel back the layers of slasher lore, real-world crime, and listener curiosities—from Halloween debates to Chicago’s own haunted corners.
Hey Joe, Georgia, and Nick! Hope Nick escaped the alley =P
Lol so mean to the other places not getting a shoutout. Rude! Kidding 😅
Glad to hear that there are fewer serial killers. Scary how there was one in Chicago a few years back and I hope the Chicago IGs are wrong about the possibilities of another one. I remember hearing that a serial killer was caught in Sacramento, CA some years ago (Golden State Killer).
Great point. And some sketches are good...and some were not good.
I agree. Tech has made it much easier to identify someone and digital footprints remain. I have mentioned this show a lot but Person of Interest is an excellent example of the surveillance state in fiction.
Thanks for your answers to my questions! I don't get scared easily from films but, like Georgia, I do not do well with seeing ultra graphic violence. A friend of mine is a YouTuber and I saw her reaction to "Terrifier". She couldn't finish it, and based on the parts she showed in her reaction video, it was toooo much for me too. I have seen Alien: Romulus, Sinners, Unsane, and Us. The first two I was ok with but Unsane disturbed me. Us was a bit borderline for what I can handle.
"Cabin in the Woods" sounds like a good one to start with 😊. I will watch it! 😊
Yeah dark psychological films disturb me. Unsane is a good example.
LOL good Predator final boy joke. I love the 2022 Prey film. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Us and if it is a slasher.
I need to see more Masterpiece Theater.
Is the End of the World book title inspired by the REM song of the same name?
I still need to watch more of Peacemaker. Bullet Train as well.
I saw my friend react to The Thing but I was sleepy so I don't remember much. I need to see it.
Good episode! Take care, Joe, Nick, and Georgia!!😊
Your mention about how (before mass surveillance) sketches had to be used to identify suspects reminds me of this funny video:

Also, my friend who has been reacting to horror movies is Catherine LaSalle. Here is her playlist of reacting to horror movies:

Take care 🙂
